The vibrant Pitahaya, also known as “Dragon Fruit”, originated in the Americas. Succulent and sweet, the Pitahaya is considered a superfruit, rich with antioxidants, iron and magnesium – making it perfect for snacking and even juicing. In cooking and desserts, Pitahayas are often used to dye cremes and cakes. Since their flavor is mild but their natural color pigment is strong, they serve as a nutritious and safe food coloring alternative. Pitahaya is also very common in the vegan and raw food industry, adding a tropical twist on every dish.
